A 5,000 meter footrace on the Tulare Santa Fe Trail

A pair of athletic events designed to appeal to a range of athletes:

Choose either a 2-mile walk or a 5,000 meter footrace open to all.

Come out and take part in Tulare's only fall running/walking event!

Saturday morning, September 12th, the weekend before the Tulare

County Fair. Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. 5K race starts at 7:30 a.m.

Walkers start at 8:00 a.m. Awards at 8:30.

The race begins at the intersection of the Tulare Santa Fe Trail

and Mooney Boulevard (behind Will Tiesiera Ford). Staging

area/check-in will be "trailside" just south of Tiesiera Ford.

To honor the memory of one of Tulare's all-time great running athletes

and outstanding citizens. ALL proceeds will directly benefit the Dennis

Wong Memorial Scholarship Fund.

All entrants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, one admission to the Tulare County Fair and post-race refreshments.

Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in five-year age brackets from "under 14" through "over 70". Overall men's,

women's and wheelchair winners will take home a 3-day, 2-night driveaway hotel/vacation package. Entry forms

available at City of Tulare Parks and Recreation Department 830 South Blackstone Street in Tulare. E-mail requests for

entry forms should be directed to "wongrun@heiskell.com". Early entry is encouraged; day-of-race entries will be

charged a $5.00 premium. Cost of events: HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES--$12.00. OPEN 5K RUN or 2 MILE WALK--$20.00.
